Evolution of the Classroom
Once upon a time, the classroom was a setting made up of one teacher, facing chairs filled with students who were "taught." "Learning", was a matter of student listening and parroting back the information shared.
Some teachers, graced with an extra dose of passion or personality, were able to engage students and generate feedback. However, even in the best of circumstances, a student without confidence to speak, remained quiet, and the opportunity for learning was limited.
Over time, the classroom evolved into the more current scene, including erasable whiteboards, laptops and projectors, and even more comfortable seating for students. However, the method of communication remained fundamentally the same; the teacher taught and the students learned.
Then one day, the wireless keypad was invited to participate in the pursuit of learning. With keypads in hand, two-way communication between student and teacher was initiated, and from that day on, the classroom was never the same. With the inclusion of wireless keypads, the classroom became a place of live interaction, enabling students and teacher to collaboratively discuss the material at hand. The Keypad quickly became a useful tool in connecting teacher and students and the interactive dynamic was born.
The classroom has come a long way from being just a room where a teacher spoke and student listened. Since the inclusion of the wireless keypad, the classroom has become a place of true learning, thanks to the student response system.
The End.
